Exploring WWII Ordnance

Explore the USS ALABAMA from a different perspective as you learn about the different guns and ammunition used aboard the “Mighty A” during WWII. Step back in time during this unique, in-depth lesson as a battleship educator guides you throughout the ship to locate the 5in, 40MM, 20MM, and awe-inspiring 16in guns, and give a detailed description of the combat operations of each weapon. During the discussion, visitors will also have the opportunity to hold a replica of a 20MM and 40MM projectile.

The talk is open to the public and included with general admission. Please meet in the Wardroom aboard the USS ALABAMA to begin.
